Union University's blog keeps students, families updated

JACKSON, TN (WMC-TV) - Union University's new blog takes you deep into Tornado recovery efforts with information about health services and the Red Cross and FEMA services available.

Many are checking the site for information about housing for students whose dorms were damaged, transportation for students whose cars were damaged, and counseling for those who need help coping.

As you scroll down from daily recovery updates from Union University's President, there is a slide show with pictures of tornado damage and how students reacted to it.

Union's new blog follows emergency communication strategies first used by bloggers following the shooting at Virginia Tech last year.
Further down the blog you'll see stories from and about students. In this article Kevin Furniss talked about being trapped under rubble in a residence hall bathroom.

The site also lists private homes that are taking in students as well as web addresses for the university's call Center...

Also, if you want to give to the Disaster Relief Fund there is a link there for you.
