Shooting victim's grandfather speaks out

Stacey Kiser's mother is deceased and his father is not in his life. The 19 year old is being raised by his grandfather.

"Quite a few pastors ministers they've offered prayers for him," grandfather William Kiser said.

Prayers for Stacey Kiser, a 19 year old in pain and unable to speak.

"He had three shots One in the neck and the rest on the leg," William Kiser said. "He's not saying anything he can just nod his head."

This after Kiser was shot by 10th grader Cornelious Cheers in physical education class at Mitchell High School  Monday morning. Investigators said the pair had an argument over the weekend.

He's just in a lot of pain right now," William Kiser said. "The bullet is wedged in his head. They can't take it out right now so they'll probably have to leave it in."

It appears doctor's are telling the family that the 19 year old won't be paralyzed. In fact, William Kiser expects a full recovery for his grandson.

"I'm planning to go home and lay down and pray for his recovery. That's all I can do," William Kiser said.

Police have charged the shooter with attempted first degree murder and other gun charges as he awaits a judge downtown.
