Tigers - WMC Action News 5 - Memphis, Tennessee

Despite a tumultuous week off the court, it was business as usual on it for the Memphis Tigers. A 21 point win over Central Florida Saturday pushed their record to 23-0.

'This game got us back to the mentality of dominating people when we were hungry. That's the mentality coach is drilling back into us,' guard Antonio Anderson felt Monday at practice.

In Saturday's game the Tigers made 11 three pointers, but the crazy thing is they came from 9 different players. Even for the number one ranked team in the country that's a rare feat. Anderson says don't expect to see it again.

'That's a once in a lifetime thing. You'll probably never see that again from us. We're gonna make some 3's but 9 guys?  That's gonna be hard.'

Head Coach John Calipari wasn't necessarily as pleased.

'They all can shoot. It's not what we want. We want to beat you with defense and rebounding. But if you choose not to guard us like Central Florida did, then we're capable of that.'

The only guy on the court who didn't make a three was muscle man Joey Dorsey. But that's ok, he became CUSA's all-time leading rebounder instead. What amazing feat will the Tigers pull off next? We'll see Wednesday at FedExForum when they host the Houston Cougars.
