Debris from tornado ignites in Southaven

Firefighters spent hours trying to put out a fire outside a Southaven warehouse Thursday morning.

A pile of cardboard and roofing material caught fire around 6:30 a.m. Thursday outside a warehouse on Airways and Stateline Road.

Firefighters say the debris was left over from the February 5th tornadoes.

The pile was so big crews had to bring in the heavy equipment.

"We're taking the debris pile and having to spread it out to inches of thickness so they can get the water on it before we get it completely out," said Captain Jimmy Wiseman of the Southaven Fire Department.

Investigators weren't sure what started the blaze.  No one was injured in the fire.
