Monday Morning Sports Headlines

HOUSTON (AP) - Tracy McGrady scored 24 points and dished out eight assists to help Houston run its winning streak to 12 games with a 110-97 win over Chicago. The Rockets' streak is their longest since their championship season of 1993-94. It is also the longest active streak in the NBA.

WASHINGTON (AP) - Martin Brodeur (mahr-TAN' broh-DYOOR') made 37 saves to lead New Jersey past Washington 2-1 in overtime. The Devils' fifth straight win and seventh in eight games moves them one point ahead of idle Ottawa in the race for the top seed in the Eastern Conference playoffs.

DALLAS (AP) - Dallas Stars defenseman Sergei Zubov (SUHR'-gay ZOO'-bahf) is expected to miss another three to four weeks after surgery to repair a foot fracture. The 37-year-old Zubov has missed the past 17 games with the injury.

FONTANA, Calif. (AP) - Two-time reigning series champion Jimmie Johnson will lead the pack when the Auto Club 500 resumes at 10 a.m. Pacific time -- weather permitting. The race was postponed last night after numerous and lengthy rain delays limited the drivers to just 87 of the scheduled 250 laps.

KISSIMMEE, Fla. (AP) - Roger Clemens' oldest son says his father will work with minor leaguers at Houston Astros spring training, but Koby Clemens, a catcher in the club's farm system, didn't say when he would arrive. The Rocket has a personal services contract with Houston that kicks in when he officially retires. The Astros have said the seven-time Cy Young Award winner is still welcome despite the steroid controversy surrounding him.
