As for the Tigers, yes, they say it's a tough pill to swallow after being Number One for 5-straight weeks...
Nobody really felt like smiling as players and coaches posed for their team picture at the Finch Center this afternoon.
It's a Double-Hurt.... the loss to the Vols cost the U of M a chance at a perfect season, having gone into the contest at 26 and 0.
The pain is still evident 72-hours after the game.
Guard Chris Douglas-Roberts says:
"I'm not going to lie, it still hurts. It still hurts. I don't like losing. We got outrebounded. We get 5 more rebounds we win the game."
Adds fellow guard Antonio Anderson:
"We'd forgotten what it's like to lose. After you win almost 50 games straight.. you don't think about losing. It's not a good feeling."
Tigers Coach John Calipari says:
"With the mistakes we made.. The not rebounding..blocking out...execution.. If we had won the game...they wouldn't listen to me like they're going to listen to me know about what we need to work on. They just wouldn't believe me. No doubt that hurt us a little bit."
The Tigers have to regroup before hosting Tulsa Wednesday..
