After being shot three times, Kiser speaks about shooting

The hurt Stacey Kiser feels is more than just skin deep. He was shot three times. In the neck, leg, and private area. But it is the wonder of why he was targeted that is eating at the 19 year old.

Kiser said on February 11th he walked into school and 17 year old Cornelious Cheers asked him about a sign. Kiser said he didn't know what he was talking about. Then minutes later he says Cheers moved in.

"Then he came and sit behind me so when the bell had rung he had just grabbed my shoulder and shot the gun and I fell on top of the table," Kiser said

Kiser spent four days at the MED, recovering from 3 gunshot wounds and could not speak. He said the symbol he made in the picture is representing his neighborhood, Walker Holmes. Gang experts in Memphis say that symbol is not gang related.

William Kiser is Stacey's legal guardian and grandfather. He said more security and metal detectors could have prevented the shooting and is needed at Mitchell. But Right now he is focused on Stacey's recovery's going well.

"There's a saying that a song says we come from a poor family, we didn't have much, but the Lord has been good to us," William Kiser said.

Stacey Kiser said his life is more focused on the future and his faith

"I've changed a lot. Given my life to God," Kiser said.

And it is his faith he will rely on to get him through this ordeal.
