Memphis, Tennessee (February 27, 2008) – MIFA (Metropolitan Inter-Faith Association) serves local seniors by delivering meals to the homebound elderly and to congregate meal sites in Memphis and three outlying counties, five days a week. But without the support of the community, programs like MIFA Meals cannot exist! During the month of March, Memphians will have a new opportunity to support MIFA – and it only involves eating at your favorite restaurants.
Be on the lookout around town for posters boasting MIFA’s March for Meals logo. This campaign is intended to raise awareness for MIFA Meals through partnerships with local restaurants to bring in much-needed funds.
Participating venues include Bhan Thai, Bogie’s Deli in Midtown, Boscos, Central BBQ, D’Bo’s Wings n’ Things, Dixie Café, East End Grill on Hwy. 64, El Mezcal on Perkins Ext., Exline’s Best Pizza in Town, Piccadilly, The Bar-B-Q Shop, Tops Bar-B-Q and Old Zinnie’s. For a complete list, visit www.mifa.org.
These restaurants will offer opportunities to contribute to MIFA throughout the month of March. You can help MIFA serve 2,300 hot, nutritious meals every day to seniors in Shelby, Fayette, Tipton and Lauderdale counties.
