MEMPHIS, TN (WMC-TV) - Police swarmed a Memphis apartment complex Thursday after the sister of a Lester Street murder victim received a strange phone call.

According to friends, Lester Street murder victim Cecil Dotson's sister Nicole was at the CJC Thursday morning, speaking with homicide detectives, when she received a phone call on her cell phone.

The number on the phone's caller ID indicated the call was coming from Nicole Dotson's apartment. Dotson said no one should have been inside the apartment at the time.

Officers were quickly dispatched to the Goodwill Village Apartments on Goodwill Lane to determine who was inside the apartment.

Police went into her apartment, but found no one.  With the area surrounded, investigators first questioned an elderly man who said he was stunned, confused, and aggravated.

Investigators went on to speak with other people in the complex, hoping to find someone who witnessed someone going into Dotson's apartment, or the actual person who went in.

Police never found the intruder.

Cecil Dotson and five other people, including two children, were discovered dead inside a home on Lester Street in Memphis early Monday evening. Three other children were found alive, but in critical condition, inside the home.
