A cool video game is just one of the new application created for Apple’s iPhone, part of apple's plan to encourage outside developers to bring new content to your iPhone and make money at the same time.

Steve Jobs, Apple CEO said, "The developer gets 70 percent of the revenues and its paid monthly.  This is the best deal going to distribute applications to mobile platforms."

The iPhone, already popular among consumers is also getting a software makeover sure to make business users smile.

Pushing your business email, contacts, and calendar to you.

It’s a shot across the bow at the equally hot-selling blackberry.

And another way Apple's phone is dialing up change.

"This one is evolutionary.  You'd probably have to say revolutionary, in that you are creating a brand new development platform for a phone," said Tim Bajarin an analyst at Creative Strategies.

The whole thing inspired Apple to embrace a leading Silicon Valley venture capital company.

Kleiner Perkins will seed its i-fund with $100 million to start new companies working with the iPhone platform.

John Doern, of Kleiner, Perkins, Cauffield, & Byers said, "The best way to predict the future is to invent it and at KPCB, we like to say the second best way is to fund it."

The iPhone software update will be free but it won't be out until June.

Meanwhile, apple says if you want to develop applications for the iPhone, it'll cost $99.00 to join the developer program.
