Registered sex offender accused in Martin burglary

MARTIN, Tenn. (AP) - A registered sex offender is jailed without bond on charges of entering the apartment of a UT-Martin coed and hiding until she fell asleep.

Police say 31-year-old Jason Paul Tims of Martin is charged with aggravated burglary.

He is accused of staying under the bed of the coed and then sitting with her, ignoring her pleas for him to leave.

Police said she was finally able to get the man outside the apartment.

Tims was convicted of rape in 1999.
