North Mississippi congressional primaries headed to runoffs

JACKSON, Miss. (AP) - A runoff will decide whether Prentiss County Chancery Clerk Travis Childers or state Rep. Steve Holland will win the Democratic nomination for north Mississippi's 1st District congressional seat.

In the Republican primary, former Tennessee Valley Authority chairman Glenn McCullough and Southaven Mayor Greg Davis also headed to a runoff election after Tuesday's primaries.

The other candidate in the Republican race was Oxford ophthalmologist Randy Russell.
