Friends and family say goodbye to two more Lester Street victims

Family and friends said goodbye to two victims of the Lester Street Massacre at an emotional service at Mississippi Boulevard Christian Church.

There, nearly three hundred people cam together to remember the lives of Marissa Williams and Cemmario Dotson.  Williams and Dotson, her two year old son, were killed in a massacre inside 722 Lester Street.

Both were memorialized in a service where the reality of the crime was still raw.

"It was emotional," family friend Aneesah Miller said, "but then, it was comforting.

Miller said she needed plenty of comfort at the service.  Williams had been her friend since seventh grade.

"Her personality was outgoing.  She just made you laugh," Miller said.

Ameenah Nicholson, another of Williams' friends, agreed.

"She was just a person you would call silly," Nicholson said.  "If you were down, she'd make you laugh.  You could be at your worst."

Instead of laughter, there were tears at Friday's service, as the group gathered to remember two lives cut short.

"She was like a sister," Miller said.  "Can't describe it any other way.  Just my friend - my sister.  I'm going to miss her."

Back on Lester Street, people continued to drop off stuffed animals at a makeshift memorial outside the home where the victims of the massacre were found.  Anticipating bad weather, someone dropped by with plastic bags and filled them with the stuffed animals to protect them from the elements.
