TBI: Woman paid pills to have ex-husband killed

DYERSBURG, Tenn. (AP) - The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation says a woman has been arrested in Dyersburg after she paid an undercover agent with pills to kill her former husband.

Authorities say 29-year-old Dottie Ann Floyd of Bethel Springs has been charged with solicitation of first-degree murder and drug possession.

According to the arrest warrant and court documents, Floyd met with the agent in the parking lot of Dyersburg Mall last week and offered 120 Hydrocodone pills as "partial payment" to commit the act.

Floyd's former husband, Christopher Floyd, was issued an emergency custody order in McNairy County General Sessions Court on Friday for the couple's two children.

Floyd is scheduled for an appearance in Dyersburg City Court on Monday. She is being held in the Dyer County Jail on a $200,000 bond.
