Tiger fans travel to Little Rock for opening round game

Tiger fans piled into cars, trucks, and buses Friday destined for Little Rock, Arkansas, ready to cheer on the men's basketball team Friday night in the first round of the NCAA basketball tournament.

Arriving at Alltel Arena, fans said they hoped Good Friday would indeed be a good day for the team.

"I think we're going all the way," Tiger fan Ruth Anna Vowan proclaimed.

While Vowan bled Tiger Blue, Action News 5 cameras caught Jasmine Johnson purchasing tickets to watch another team: Austin Peay.  Turns out, Johnson has a "friend" who plays for the team.

Amidst the sea of blue, we did manage to find two fans of the Tigers' opponent, Texas-Arlington.  They admitted they felt lonely.

"I guess we're the two of the dedicated ones who made the road trip this morning," one of the fans said.

Tip-off for the game is scheduled for 8:55 p.m. Friday night.  In the history of the NCAA tournament, no No. 1 seed has ever lost to a No. 16 seed.
