Man Found Shot Inside Oak Court Mall parking garage

Merchants and customers at Oak Court Mall are shocked tonight after a man was found shot inside a parking garage. Both he and his car riddled with bullets.

Police said the silver Honda had at least nine bullet holes. But they do not believe a single shot was fired at Oak Court Mall.

But the victim ended up here.

His body shot multiple times too.

He was left lying inside the car on the lower level of the Dillard's parking garage.

"Someone had entered the parking garage, observed him, and called police," Lt. Col. Ray Douglas of the Memphis Police Department said.

Mondonico Williams opened a photography studio in the mall less than a year ago. Another merchant alerted him to what was going on outside.

"One of her clients actually came out and called police. Said somebody has been shot," Mondonico Williams said.

Not your average day at Oak Court.

"We just heard all the sirens coming and we came outside. They told us to go back inside and stuff," shopper Carter Webster said.

Her mom followed the ambulance in, thinking the worst.

"I always thought the mall is safe. A safe place for them to come and hang out," mother Leslie Webster said.

Some shoppers were kept from their cars as the investigation began.

Police are not sure what he would have seen.

The victim may have driven himself here or someone may have dropped him off.

For now he is in extremely critical condition and too badly injured to talk.

Right now, the victim has not been identified.

Action News 5 has learned one person is being questioned in connection with this case but police are not elaborating at this time.
