Tigers Prepare for Sweet 16

Just one more practice day in Memphis before the Tigers head to H-Town for the NCAA Sweet 16 round.

Being part of College Basketballs' best is nothing new for this U of M squad...

The Tigers have won 102-games while losing only 9 over the last 3 years...

Despite their well documented Free Throw woes, losing is simply NOT an option for this group.

They overcame Foul Trouble, as well as Foul Shooting from the stripe to beat Mississippi State in Sunday's second round game of survive and advance.

The Tigers will practice in Memphis Wednesday before leaving for Houston and the South Regional Semifinal Wednesday night.

The Top Seed Memphis will play 5th seed Michigan State Friday night around 9pm at Houston Reliant Stadium.

 A trip to the Sweet 16 in the NCAA Tournament is becoming customary this time of year...

So are all the trappings that come with being associated among the nations top college basketball programs..

Like Television interviews on Network Cable Sports Shows..

The Guys from Best Damn Sports Show Period in Memphis Tuesday afternoon picking Head Coach John Calipari's brain about another deep tournament run.

This is the third straight year the U of M has made it at least this far in the Big Dance...

5th seed Michigan State is up next in Houston, and the Tigers say their predominately half court style will pose a whole new challenge.

  Guard Derrick Rose says:

"We need to crash the boards and concentrate on rebounding. "

  Adds All-American Chris Douglas-Roberts:

"They're gonna play their game, which is half court."

  And, Head Coach John Calipari says" 

"They will run. He pplays 8 or 9 guys...it's gonna be a hard game. "

Tigers Backup Guard Andre Allen also back to work Tuesday...

Allen says he's good to go for Friday's Game against the Spartans in Houston..

The former BTW star was hammered to the ground on a hard foul against Mississippi State in Saturday's Second Round at Little Rock..

He injured his shoulder on the play and did not return to the action.
