Two women raped during Thursday burglary

Memphis police are searching for the suspects responsible for breaking into a home Thursday afternoon, raping two women, and throwing a baby over a fence.

The attacks happened in the 1800 block of Parnassus, where late Thursday, neighbors watched closely as police collected information from two women who said they were robbed and raped by two armed men.

Grace Cook said she was watching TV when one of the victims ran over to her home.

"She was screaming and hollering and beating on my door," Cook said.

The women told the police they were attacked as they arrived home from running errands by two men demanding cash and jewelry.

"We found out that they had both been raped," she said.

Cook said at some point, either before or after the attack, the 18-month-old daughter of one of the victims was thrown over Cook's fence.

"I don't know who threw her over the fence," Cook said. "She was in my back yard."

The little girl appeared to be okay.  It appeared the victims may have been forced to take showers after the attacks.

Late Thursday afternoon, police had no clear description of either suspect.
