Police investigating brutal attacks in Cordova

Police are investigating two brutal attacks in fewer than four hours. Three women were robbed and possibly raped in the attacks.

Yesterday, the first crime happened in the 1800 block of Parnassus in the Nutbush neighborhood.

Hours later, police say two armed men barged into an apartment on George Brett Drive in Cordova.

In that case, the women had just returned home from the grocery store when two armed men followed them in.

The women told police they were raped, one of them repeatedly, then robbed.

Four hours later, two armed men broke into a 22 year-old woman's apartment in Cordova.

She was sexually assaulted too.

Fortunately, a one year-old child inside the apartment was not hurt.
"When I tell you....really quiet, really nice," neighbor Christa Briney said.

Management at Country Squire stuck a flier on every door Friday, explaining what happened and promising increased security in the complex.

Memphis Police are interviewing the victim of the most recent attack.

They are still trying to determine any other similarities with the first rape and robbery beyond the the fact that two armed men are responsible.
