Mariah Carey passes Elvis with 18th number-one hit

NEW YORK (AP) -- Mariah Carey has passed Elvis with her 18th number-one hit.

Her record label says "Touch My Body" debuted at number one on the Billboard Hot 100 chart by selling 286,000 copies in its first week.

Elvis Presley had 17 number-ones in his career.

Only one band is ahead of Carey when it comes to chart-topping singles. The Beatles had 20 of them. Carey will have a chance to beat the Beatles when she releases more songs from her upcoming album.

"EMC2" is set to be released on April 15.
