At least eight dead in Pennsylvania house fire

BROCKWAY, Pa. (AP) - An overnight house fire Thursday killed at eight people and two others were missing and presumed dead, state police said. There were two survivors, including one who jumped from the second floor.

The fire started between 2:30 and 2:45 a.m. Its cause was under investigation.

Trooper Bruce Morris says the eight victims ranged in age from four months to 40.

There were two survivors.

One jumped from the second floor and ran to neighbor Jamie Hynds house across the street. The woman, who was naked, was believed to be about 19. She said there were 10 people still inside.

Witnesses also reported seeing a boy escape the flames.

The fire was in Brockway, a rural town of about 2,000 people set among rolling hills and farmland 80 miles northeast of Pittsburgh. The home was on a main drag lined with several other single-family homes.

Morris says the fire does not appear to be suspicious.
