Two women arrested in connection with purse snatchings

Two women suspected in several purse snatchings were arrested Thursday morning near the intersection of Poplar and Riverdale Road.

Both Memphis and Germantown police are working the case.

They said two women went on a crime spree Thursday morning, snatching purses from several businesses along Poplar Avenue.

Stephanie Montgomery and Seqetris Price have been charged with those thefts after police caught up with them and found some incriminating evidence.

A report of the first purse snatching came from the Clark Quick Print in the 2800 block of Poplar  around 8:20 Thursday morning.

20 minutes later a purse was stolen from the Tan and Go in the 3100 block of Poplar.

At 10:20 a.m. the Natural Body at 7509 Poplar was hit.

Later, Germantown police pulled over a suspicious car at the intersection of Poplar and Rowan.

Inside, they found the two women and one of the stolen purses.

Montgomery and Price have been charged with theft from a building under $500.

Memphis police are investigating whether the two women were involved in similar thefts in Memphis over the last six months.
