Excited fans descend on Tiger Bookstore hours before game

Normally a place of higher learning, it was hard for those on campus at the University of Memphis to not be distracted by Monday by the impending national championship game.

Visions of a national championship infected nearly everything with hoops madness.  At the Tiger Bookstore, isles were packed to the brim with shoppers gearing up for Monday night's game.

"They're going to blow them out," one person said.

From cell phone holders to head toppers, anything with blue and gray on it, no matter what the cost, was worth the wait in line.

"It's real peaceful," one shopper said, perhaps sarcastically.  "You know...not chaotic."

Fans could even be found skipping a day at the office to collect Tiger spirit.

"We're not even supposed to be here," a group of fans laughed.

All fans, young and old, were ready to cheer on their team to victory.

"We're going to win," another shopper said. "We're going to win the national championship!"

Leaving all to wonder, if the team does win, how much more excited the city would get.

    Memphis Police Department is investigating a triple shooting in Frayser.  The shooting happened at 1751 Gowan Drive late Sunday night.  Three people were hurt including a man and a pregnant woman. Both were transported to the hospital in critical condition.  An 11-year-old was grazed by a bullet, but is expected to be okay.
