Lester Street home now up for sale

According to neighbors, the home at 722 Lester Street -infamous as the scene of the Lester Street Massacre - is now up for sale.

Cleanup of the home is apparently now underway.  Neighbors said a ServPro truck arrived at 722 Lester early Tuesday morning.

Later in the day, biohazard containers sat on the lawn of the home as two men in white biohazard suits took trips in and out of the house.

Neighbors said the men filled up the boxes, loaded them into the truck, and hauled several loads away throughout the day.

Investigators said Jessie Dotson killed his brother Cecil Dotson on March 3, 2008, and then tried to cover up his crime by shooting three other adults and stabbing five children.

Two of the children died.

A lock box realtors use to store keys to show homes is now on the door handle.

Though the home is not showing up in the MLS system, the owner may be trying to sell the home on his own.

He could not be reached for comment and his number is not listed.

Neighbors said the steady stream of people driving by to see the site of the Lester Street Massacre is just now, over a month later, starting to slow down.
