Former Ark. teacher gets 18-year sentence for child porn

JONESBORO, Ark. (AP) - A former high school band teacher and church music director has been sentenced to 18 years in federal prison for distributing child pornography.

Tracy Meadows of Jonesboro, who previously worked at Piggott High School and was music director at First Baptist Church in Rector, pleaded guilty last year to the federal count and was sentenced Thursday to prison.

Meadows had worked at the high school for more than 20 years when he was arrested after sending pornographic computer files to an undercover FBI agent in Buffalo, N.Y., on Jan. 20, 2006.

Federal agents searched Meadows' home and seized a computer that they said contained more than 3,700 images of children engaging in sexually explicit behavior. U.S. Attorney Jane Duke said some pictures were of children younger than 12 being subjected to sadistic or masochistic activity.
