YOUR TURN: Pam Yewell's comments on crime in Memphis

WMC-TV VP & General Manager Lee Meredith WMC-TV VP & General Manager Lee Meredith

This week's "Your Turn" segment goes to Pam Yewell. Yewell is worried about crime in the city of Memphis, especially gangs. She thinks police are doing the best they can, but she's frustrated that more can't be done to stop crime.

In Yewell's words:

"I have lived in my neighborhood for 21 years and raised my children and now my grandchildren. We have gang graffiti on the fence that our subdivision backs up to. We watch as obvious gang members walk our streets. They proudly display their colors. The only thing we've done to these thugs is call the police when they have stolen things right out of our front yard in the day light and when they broke into a neighbor's house as we watched. They are not afraid of anything. We, however, are. Please Memphis authorities, get these gangs out.  Make it impossible for them to conduct their business."

That's Pam Ewell's turn. Now it's your turn. To comment on this segment or anything else, email yourturn@wmctv.com or call 800-465-1210.
