Memphis man convicted in death of daughter

On May 9, 2006, the victim, Erica Cathey, was transported to LeBohneur Children's Medical Center in critical condition and placed on life support after Eric Cathey reported the child was unresponsive and not breathing.  The victim was in Eric Cathey's care while her mother was at work. The victim had several broken bones, fractures and severe head trauma consistent with being violently shaken.

Cathey will be sentenced to life in prison for the murder charge, and faces 15-25 years for the additional two charges.  He is scheduled to be sentenced on May 23.
