Suspect in attack on family arrested

BEAN STATION, Tenn. (AP) - Authorities in Grainger County said a man wanted in an attack that wounded four members of his family was captured.

County sheriff's officials said William Randall Crawford was found Wednesday morning near the home where the attacks occurred Saturday night.

WVLT-TV in Knoxville reported the 34-year-old Crawford was found lying in some grass and had a leg injury.

Authorities earlier said Crawford was accused of firing a gun through a pair of doors, grazing his mother-in-law's head, then shooting and stabbing his father-in-law, stabbing his wife and stabbing his 15-year-old son.

The man was the most severely injured and had previously been in critical condition at a hospital. Information on the family members' medical conditions wasn't immediately available Tuesday.
