YOUR TURN: Virginia Robinson's frustrations about hourly Memphis motels

This week's "Your Turn" segment goes to Virginia Robinson. Robinson wrote to express her frustration about some Memphis motels which are renting their rooms out by the hour, attracting prostitution and other crimes.

This situation was investigated by Joe Birch in this week's "Taking Back Our Neighborhoods" report. Robinson wants something done about it.

In her words:

"Can't the police department handle this situation? What they are doing inside these rooms is immoral and illegal. I just celebrated my 70th birthday and have lived all my life in Memphis. I can't believe what has happened to the city I once loved. It's hard to love something that you are afraid of. I never thought I'd be afraid to work in my flowerbeds or drive to a nearby store at night. This is ridiculous. It hurts so much for me to watch Memphis turn into a gang city with hourly room rates available within our city limits.  Thanks for the work you do, Joe. Maybe the officials will listen some day."

That's Virginia Robinson's turn. Now it's your turn. To comment on this segment or anything else, email yourturn@wmctv.com or call 800-465-1210.
