The CEO of the Huey's chain of restaurants died Monday morning.

Thomas Boggs, 63, died in his sleep early Monday morning after a long illness.

In addition to decades of work in the Memphis restaurant industry, Boggs was notable for being a member of the Box Tops," a band that recorded several major hits.

Boggs' caricature can be seen playing the drums on menus at Huey's restaurants.  He spent more than 30 years working in the Memphis restaurant industry, taking a position at Huey's after moving up through the ranks at TGI Friday's.

Boggs was also a partner at popular Memphis restaurants such as Folk's Folly, Tsunami, and the Half Shell.

Visitation for Boggs will be held Wednesday at Grace St. Luke's Episcopal Church from 5pm to 8pm, with his funeral to follow Thursday at 11am.

In lieu of flowers, family member ask that memorials be sent to the Memphis Restaurant Association Thomas Boggs Memorial Fund, The Church Health Center, the Memphis Zoological Society, Grace St. Luke's Church or School, or any other charity.
