Memphis High School Football Legend Honored in Atlanta

He once Terrorized Memphis High School Quarterbacks as a ferocious Defensive Lineman at the Old Lester High School in the Binghampton part of the City.

He's now a 4-Time Hall of Famer.

Big Claude Humphrey will be inducted into the Atlanta Sports Hall of Fame May 31st.

Humphrey, who starred in Football and Basketball at Lester, went on to a standout College Career at Tennessee State.

He was drafted by the Atlanta Falcons in the First Round of the NFL Draft in 19-68 and was the Leagues' Defensive Rookie of the Year.

Big Claude starred for 13-season in the NFL, 7-with the Falcons and later 6 with the Philadelphia Eagles..helping Philly get to the Super Bowl by recording 14 1/2 sacks during the 19-80 season.

A 6-time Pro Bowler, Humphrey finished with a whopping 126.5 sacks in his career.

Humphrey is a already a member of the Tennessee Hall of Fame, the Georgia Hall of Fame, and of course, his High School Hall of Fame as a Lester Lion.
