House passes resolutions honoring Tigers' championship trip

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) - The Tennessee House of Representatives passed resolutions honoring the Memphis Tigers for their trip to the NCAA Division I national championship.

The resolutions were approved on Tuesday.

The Tigers made school history with a record 38 wins before losing only their second game of the season in a 75-68 championship loss to Kansas in overtime.

Memphis is 104-10 over the past three seasons, tied for most victories in a three-year stretch in NCAA Division I history.

That has made coach John Calipari the winningest coach in a three-year span. Last month, he signed a contract extension through the 2012-13 season.
