Man indicted in crash that hurt West Tennessee trooper

TRENTON, Tenn. (AP) - A Bradford man has been indicted as a result of a wreck that seriously injured a Tennessee Highway Patrol lieutenant.

A Gibson County grand jury indicted Alex Lannom on charges of vehicular assault and aggravated DUI, said Mike Browning, a spokesman for the Tennessee Department of Safety. Bond was set at $100,000.

Lannom apparently lost control of his pickup truck last Jan. 29 on Tenn. 105 and crossed over the center line into Lt. Bobby Hargrove's lane, hitting his cruiser, according to THP officials.       Hargrove, a trooper since 1984, suffered a broken leg and lacerations and isn't expected to return to work until at least August.

Lannom, 21 at the time, suffered a broken leg.
