Memphis killer of brother draws 10 years in prison

MEMPHIS, Tenn. (AP) - A Memphis man accused of killing his brother with a military-style rifle has drawn 10 years in prison.

Randy White was sentenced Tuesday on his guilty plea to voluntary manslaughter.       Authorities say the shooting occurred in 2006 when White went to his brother's house to show off a new AK-47-style rifle. Police say an argument broke out and White's 28-year-old brother, Robert, was shot five times.

In seeking approval for the guilty plea, defense lawyer Leslie Ballin said his client had no prior criminal record and described the shooting as "a once-in-a-lifetime event."

Authorities say the brothers had been drinking and arguing over money.
