Police investigate double shooting at North Watkins and Louisville

A shootout in North Memphis Wednesday afternoon injured an innocent bystander.

Police say a gunman opened fire near the intersection of North Watkins and Louisville just after 5 p.m.

The bullet hit its intended target, causing the driver of a gray car to lose control.

That car then hit another vehicle headed in the opposite direction.

That driver was not involved in the shooting and is currently in critical condition.

"We heard about eight gunshots back to back and the car are we heard was screech and boom! That's it," witness Kieyana Brown said.

At least one person was hit by a bullet during the shootout.

They were also rushed to the hospital in critical condition.

Police have not made any arrests.
