Early morning fire damages Interstate Bar-B-Que

A fire broke out at Memphis' world famous Interstate Bar-B-Que around 6:00 a.m. Sunday.

Employees of the S. Third Street restaurant, which is owned and operated by the Neely family, were cleaning cooking equipment when the fire started accidentally.

Authorities said the flames were self-contained in the kitchen and damage was minor.

Interstate Bar-B-Que was closed for business Sunday, but the restaurant is set to reopen Monday.
