New details were released Tuesday in the case of a Mid-South serial sex offender, one day after the suspect was officially charged.

Kim Eddy, 28, was arrested Saturday night and charged two days later, after detectives re-interviewed victims, making sure they had the right guy.

In official court documents, Eddy is accused of barging into the homes of several women, holding them at gunpoint, and robbing them.

In one case, the victim was forced to undress before being raped with an object.

Police say his crimes would have likely escalated if he had not been caught.

"We knew we had to take this person in custody as soon as possible," said Memphis Police spokesperson Detective Monique Martin. "We didn't know what his intention would be in another incident, and that's what we were trying to prevent."

According to the official charges, Eddy sometimes covered his face with a white mask during his crimes.  But, officials said, enough of it was visible to allow victims to positively identify him.

Eddy is scheduled to be in court on these charges Wednesday morning.  He is currently being held on a $1 million bond.
