Gas Hits Travel Budgets for High Schools on State Level

The TSSAA is ready to talk about 2-new classifications for High School Football in Tennessee.

The debate set for this week, is over Plan Z, a proposal from rural schools to expand the current 5-class set up for the state playoffs...Class-A-, Double-A-, Triple-A- , and so forth.

The rural plan would have 4-classes in the regular season, and 6 in the playoffs, assuring them of at least 2-state Titles.

The current 5-class plan requires long travel in some regions...and gas being what it is, makes it cost prohibitive.

The Mississippi High School association is studying ways to cut travel costs for All games, incuding the regular season.
