Slideshow: SUV slams into Southaven home

A sharp curve in northern Mississippi has some families concerned for their safety.

Early Wednesday morning, an SUV took the curve near the intersection of Greenbrook Parkway and Lakeshore Drive too quickly, slamming into a nearby house.

Justin Moss, who was inside the house at the time, described the terrifying experience.

"I heard two loud bangs," he said. "Shook the whole house."

The Chevy Trailblazer crossed the Moss' lawn and hit the family SUV before careening through their yard and slamming into their house.  The Moss' two young daughters were in their room when the Chevy slammed through the wall.  Neither of the girls were hurt.

Moss credited a higher power with protecting his daughters.

"That's the only way them kids walked out, is by God," he said. "I mean, you can't explain it any other way."

His explanation is based on the history of Greenbrook Parkway, which has a history of similar accidents.

Police said the driver of the Chevy Trailblazer was not injured in the accident, and believe he may have fallen asleep at the wheel.  Investigators added that shortly before the accident, the driver of the vehicle was clocked further up Greenbrook going 37 miles per hour in a 35 zone.
