The Top Big Man from the Hoosier Donned Memphis Grizzlies Practice Gear Thursday at FedExForum..
Indiana Power Forward D.J. White is among three NBA Draft Hopefuls working for the Grizz.
At 6'9", 251 pounds, White is the reigning Big 10 Player of the Year and is voted by the U.S. Basketball writers as a Second Team All-American.
He averaged 17-points and 10-rebounds a game his Senior Season.
Most Draft Boards project White as a second rounder..but the Grizzlies are taking a good look at him for the Second pick late in the First round.
(White) "projections are just other people's opinions, they're not the ones making the decisions. As for the mock drafts and things like that, I try not to listen to those."
(Grizzlies Player Personnel Director Tony Barone) "I think his positioning in the NBA is he's gonna be one of those small fours who can play. He can shoot the ball, and he's very quick off his feet, so we thought it was a great workout."
Also working out today, 6'11" Center Brian Butch of Wisconsin, and 6'9" Forward James Mays of Clemson.
The NBA Draft is June 26th.
---------Tigers Bring in Recruit for Visit-------
Never let it be said Memphis Tigers Basketball Coach John Calipari gets frustrated when it comes to recruiting..
With Briarcrest Junior Leslie McDonald commiting to North Carolina this week..Coach Cal reaches into his prospect bag and gets another Top Recruit to visit the U of M.
This time, it's 6'7", 230-pound Emmanual Negedu of Africa, by way of Brewster Academy in Wofleboro, New Hampshire.
Negedu is a consensus 4-star recruit known as an energy player, explosive around the basket either on rebounding, put-backs or blocking shots.
He averaged 18-points and 12-rebounds a game last season, originally signing with Arizona out of High School...but gained his release after the Wildcats Coaching Shakeup.
New U of M Assistant Coach Josh Pastner recruited Negedu for Arizona before joining the Tigers Staff.
Negedu visited Tennessee earlier this week..
He's also interested in Georgia Tech and Indiana.
