Sports Illustrated Likes Lausanne's Avant

What a Whirlwind career it's been for Lauren Avant...and she's still just in High School! 

Sports Illustrated is in town to feature the Lausanne Collegiate School star for its', "Where Will They Be" photo essay.

It highlights 16-top Prep Athletes around the Nation.

Avant is the Only Female basketball player.

She led the Lady Lynx to the State Championship as a Sophomore last season, and has already committed to the University of Tennessee.

Avant has played Varsity Hoops since 8th grade, and only Freshman in the country to be named Street and Smith Pre-Season All-America in 2006.

A good student, Avant says her ultimate goal is to become a Doctor..but, she'd like to give the WNBA a try, as well.

Former Lady Vol Candace Parker is the winner of the Honda-Broderick Cup, given annually to the Nation's Top Female Athlete.

Parker led the Lady Vols to their 2nd consecutive NCAA Title in April...

She then became the Number One Pick in the WNBA draft by the L.A. Sparks.

Parker is only the second player in WNBA history to Dunk in a regulation game..

It happened Sunday night in the Sparks 77-63 win over the Indiana Fever.
