Rosemark leaders work to save 98-year-old school building

Monday is the deadline for volunteers to try and save the ninety-eight year old Rosemark School building from the wrecking ball.

Alumni and community leaders have spent the past 30 days trying to raise the $200,000 needed to keep the building from being torn down.  As of Monday, according Preserve the Tradition chair Mark Davidson, they have a little more than $100,000 in the bank.

Based on estimates from the school, this is enough money to fireproof, insure and maintain the Rosemark landmark for one more year.

Volunteers hope to meet with Tipton-Rosemark board members this week to extend the fundraising deadline.
