This week, the venerable old track will host not only the O'Reilly United Sprint Car Series..but also Street Stocks and Modifieds in what's billed as The Triple Crown Challenge coming up Thursday.
Big Bucks are up for grabs for the Driver who can claim the Ultimate Short Track Conquest...that's win All 3-classes on the same night.
The Prize Money for the Triple Crown...$10-Thousand Dollars.
Race oganizer Pete Walton is the man who came up with the idea.
"They're 3 really different cars. The Sprint car is about half the weight of the other two. And we're gonna have some of our top drivers race all 3 and challenge people. "
Adds Sprint Car Driver Derek Hagar:
"'I've driven Sprint Cars for about 3 years but I've never been in the other two types of cars so it's gonna be a challenge. "
17-year Old Derek Hagar won USCS Rookie of the Year Honors in 2006.
The Triple Crown Challenge is set for Thursday at Riverside Speedway.
