Arrest made in case of backyard bones

The woman who lives next to the vacant lot next to where bones were found on Wednesday has been arrested on suspicion of first-degree murder.

On Thursday, a hammer turned a utility pole into a memorial as the family turned North Manassas into a gathering spot  to honor Wayne Hart.

"So I'm just glad me and my family came together and got this done," sister Vontina Hart said.

Wednesday, the Hart's hit North Manassas for a different reason. They had not seen Wayne in two years and were under the impression he had moved away.

They got a tip his body was buried in the backyard between 305 and 309 North Manassas. They raced to the scene, found a foot, and called police. Hours after investigators left, the Hart's shuffled through high grass for another look.

The high brush has now been cut so you can now see that shallow grave where the Hart family found the skeletal remains.

The grave is less than a foot-and-a-half deep. The Hart's point the finger at Wayne's ex-girlfriend Shiela Porter. She was taken in for questioning.

According to the Shelby County Jail website, Porter was booked at 11:30 Wednesday night, in custody under the charge of suspicion of first degree murder.

But Memphis police say no one has been charged in this case.

Leaving the Hart's awaiting justice

Investigators said they cannot yet confirm who the skeleton belongs to.
