Morning lines mark release of latest iPhone

Some Mid-Southerners were waiting in line for hours this morning to get the latest version of the popular iPhone.

By dawn, the line stretched around the building. A line that started hours earlier.

First in line was Francis Loyd, an early bird who was in line at 4:10 am.

"It's a lot of gadgets they have that really inspire me to get this telephone," Loyd said.

Telephone, internet, GPS, music, movies, you name it. It fits in the palm of your hands.

Enough to drag Kevin Brandt out of bed at 5 am.

"You know, I don't know, I think just. I wanted to make sure I had one," Brandt said.

So did dozens of others. Braving the line sitting down. Or catching up with all the downtown gossip.

Curtis Jolley already has one. He works for AT & T. And while iPhones have been available for months, this line awaits an upgraded version.

"It gets on the internet faster than the old one did," Jolley said.

Jolley promises this version is better.

And if you want one but couldn't sacrifice your morning?

"We'll be able to place an order through our system. It'll be shipped to the store, the customer will get it when we get the phones in stock," Jolley said.

If you wanted one and didn't get one, the stores said their shelves will be stocked again within two days, if not sooner.
