The WNBA hands out the most suspensions in its' history...and one goes to former Lady Vol Candace Parker.
It's for her part in that Brawl with the Detroit Shock at the Palace at Auburn Hills Tuesday night.
Parker, the WNBA's Top Draft pick, gets tangled with the Shock Plenette Pierson after a Free Throw and all Heck breaks lose.
A total of 10 players and coaches get suspensions.
Among them, Pierson gets 4-games for initiating the skirmish.
Parker gets one for retaliating...
And Detroit assistant coach Rick Mahorn, a former Bad Boy with the NBA Champion Pistons, gets 2-games.
He came off the bench and inadvertently shoved Lisa Leslie to the ground in attempt to peacemake.
The WNBA says that's no excuse.
The Suspensions will be served in alphabetical order so the teams can field full rosters.
The Shock needed a little more help in the numbers department, so they signed 50-YEAR OLD NANCY LIEBERMAN TO A SEVEN-DAY CONTRACT.
LIEBERMAN HAD PREVIOUSLY BEEN THE OLDEST PLAYER IN THE WNBA WHEN SHE
PLAYED FOR THE PHOENIX MERCURY back IN 1997 AT THE AGE OF 39.
Lieberman is a Women's Basketball Hall of Famer and is a former WNBA Head Coach and General Manager.
