It's no secret if the St. Louis Cardinals want to have a chance at making the playoffs, they're going to need a little more consistancy in the pitching rotation.
With that, the Cards have made a trade, sending pitcher Anthony Reyes to Cleveland for minor league pitcher Luis Perdoma.
The 26-year-old righhander, who has split time this season between the Cardinals' bullpen and the starting rotation of the Redbirds, was actually scheduled to pitch for Memphis tonight against Tacoma at Autozone Park.
Reyes was 2-3 with a 3.25 ERA in 11 starts with the Redbirds...
He started this season on St. Louis' opening day roster and went 2-1 with a save in 10 relief appearances, but was placed on the DL in June with a sprained right elbow.
Two years ago, Reyes held Detroit to four hits in eight-plus innings in game 1 of the World Series.
As for Perdomo...he's made nine appearances at Double-A Akron.
The 24-year-old began the season at Class-A Kinston.
