New arrest for transgendered woman beaten by officer

Duannel Johnson, also known as Duanna, the transgendered woman who made national headlines after she was beaten by a Memphis police officer, was arrested again early Sunday morning on prostitution and drug charges.

According to police records, Johnson has been charged with prostitution near a church or school, and possession of drug paraphernalia. She's due in court Monday morning.

Johnson was seen in a surveillance video taken last February being beaten by an officer.

The incident, which happened in the intake lobby of the Shelby County jail following a prostitution arrest, resulted in the firing of two officers.
