MEMPHIS, Tenn. - Landon Lyons of Baton Rouge, La., leads the Stanford Financial Junior Championship hosted by David Gossett at 2-under-par 140. Kendall Martindale of Jefferson City, Tenn., leads the Girls Division at 2-over-par 144 at TPC Southwind after Wednesday's second round. Conducted by the American Junior Golf Association, the Stanford Financial Junior Championship hosted by David Gossett is a 54-hole stroke play event being held at TPC Southwind. The tournament field consists of 60 boys and 21 girls, ages 12-18, from 20 states and Canada. The Boys Division is playing the par-71 course at 6,944 yards, while the Girls Division is being played at 5,990 yards.
Lyons' round of 1-over-par 72 consisted of four birdies and five bogeys. He played TPC Southwind's demanding par-3s at 1-under-par for the day. "My putting all week has been good and I have been hitting the ball better lately," said Lyons. "I am really looking forward to tomorrow. I am just going to go out there and have fun."
Brandon Rodgers of Knoxville, Tenn., is in second at 1-under-par 141. Rodgers' 6-under-par 65 is the low-round of the tournament after two rounds. In third is
Dean Hester of Dublin, Ga., at 2-over-par 144.
Martindale, the defending champion, maintained her lead with a second round score of 3-over-par 74 that featured two birdies.
Amelia Lewis of Jacksonville, Fla., is in second, two shots back, at 4-over-par 146. In third at 152 is Alyssa Randolph of Knoxville, Tenn.
