Man charged in death of motorcyclist, passenger remains critical

Martin McKoy, 35, of Nashville died Sunday morning when an alleged drunk driver's car struck his motorcycle. The accident happened at S. Third and East Crump Blvd. in Downtown Memphis just after 3:30 a.m. McKoy was dead at the scene.

McKoy's passenger, 22-year-old Shaquila White, was seriously injured and transported to an area hospital in critical condition.

Troy Woodland, 36, was driving his Chevrolet Impala westbound on Crump when he ran a red light, striking the Suzuki motorcycle.

Memphis police have charged Woodland with vehicular homicide, vehicular assault, DUI, reckless driving, public intoxication, and disregarding a red light. He's due to appear in court Monday morning.
